Yesterday's friendly at the Shawfield Stadium allows club to move to Stage 2

The friendly match between Ash United and Colney Heath (in which Ash won 5-2) was Stage 1 of 2 stages the club is required to go through, in allowing spectators to attend games. Over 40 spectators attended yesterday's game (Sat 29 August) which the club allocated as its Stage 1 game to which 150 spectators was the maximum that could be admitted.

The Covid-19 measures were all used properly and no issues arose, which means that the club can move to Stage 2, which will allow up to 300 spectators to attend future home matches. The Government and the FA will at some future date review the maximum attendance figure which, hopefully will increase, so that clubs in steps of the National League System above us, will be able to welcome supporters and spectators to their grounds once again.

The club is appreciative of the players, management and supporters of Colney Heath who were at yesterday's game, for their co-operation in this Stage 1 event and, who, along with the club's own supporters on the day, have allowed the club to move to Stage 2.
