Aspatria back on home turf in the Holmen Iggesund League

Aspatria welcome Lowca for tomorrow's home fixture (2.30pm kick off) in what is sure to be a blood and guts affair. The Hornets always seem to bring out the best in the West Cumbrian men and encounters between the two sides are usually hard fought.

Lowca claimed the opening day bragging rights with a 32-20 home win in, what many thought, was a lacklustre Aspatria performance but, credit to Lowca who were full value for the win.

It will be a tough game for Aspatria given the sporadic nature of the fixture list since the beginning of August and it is always a challenge to build any sort of momentum. Lowca were narrowly beaten by League Champions elect, Cockermouth 28-24 and will be itching to put things right on Saturday.

Lowca have already been in touch to confirm that a bus load of players and supporter will be arriving on Saturday. They are most welcome and I am sure they will enjoy out hospitality (as we did at Lowca earlier in the year).

Our referee for the day is Rob Ainsworth. I am sure that all our fans will give him a warm welcome.

Senior Player, Luke Crossman commented 'the mood in the camp is positive; we have a strong squad and are looking forward to the challenge that Lowca always present'.

Our valued match day sponsors are:

Match Sponsor: Abram & Clark Builders
Ball Sponsor: Mark Beverley Joinery

All support welcome.
