Aspatria make the short trip along the A596 tomorrow to take on Maryport in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland League. With the season drawing to a close, both sides will be looking to end on a positive note.

The second half of the season has certainly been a challenge with the extremely intermittent nature of the fixture list meaning that it has been extremely difficult to build or maintain any momentum generated. Indeed, Aspatria have only played three games in August and September; a loss to Cockermouth on 7th August, a loss to Seaton 2s on 4th September and the very pleasing home win to Lowca on 18th September.

Aspatria will know that the youthful Maryport team will be up for the challenge but will also be equally determined to come away with a good performance.

The man in the middle is Mr Byers and the kick-off is 2.30pm.
