AOE 1XV and Ladies XV keep up the momentum with LEAGUE WINS at home!

It was another winning weekend for both the Senior 1XV Men XV Senior Ladies XV.

AOE 1XV welcomed Cannock to Sunnybank Avenue on Saturday in what was a miserable day weather wise. Aston 1XV finished half time 17-0 up with try's from Julius Hunt hurtling over the try line in the 6th minute, followed by Jack Perry running through the sticks in the 25th (converted by Finn Carroll) and Kris Hindley landing the ball down in the 30th minute after a series of powerful pick and go's from the pack.

After Cannock had camped in Aston's 22 for a while putting us under some pressure, Aston kicked themselves back in to the oppositions 22 with a scrum on the 5m, the ball was shipped out to a hurtling Craig Williams with a cleanly secured ruck before passing out to Julius Hunt in the 60th minute to secure the bonus point and converted by co captain Ethan Channer.

FT: 24-0
Men of the Match: Ade Buxton & Ash Rana

AOE 2XV also hosted Edwardians 2XV in the Greater Birmingham Merit League fixture and finished just short of their opposition at 7-15. This scoreline is a massive improvement on the previous season which saw Edwardians 2XV take a 50-17 win away at the beginning of the year.

FT: 7-15
Man of the Match: Pete Carroll (without him the game wouldn't go ahead...he reffed!)
D**k of the day: Cameron Hall who asked to come off because he was too cold!!

AOE Ladies XV continued their run of wins, taking at 34-0 win to opposition Burton Ladies.
Burton immediately put pressure on from the kick off and took possession. Aston eventually got possession after a series of phases with the first try coming from captain Jennie Parry to land over the try line. The momentum then began from Aston as the game opened up with Caoimhe Maher running in 4 try's and Bex Oldfield adding another. Rachel Fowkes converted 2/6.
