Brendan Mulligan, Chairman of Aston Old Edwardian's Rugby Club;

"I am pleased to confirm Craig Williams as our coach as we prepare for the restart of rugby and the season ahead.

I expect Craig to challenge our players to be the best they can be and to work together to build winning teams.

Committee and coaches can only do so much - its up to the players to engage and commit to a vision of success...so, over to you!"

Craig Williams, Club Coach of Aston Old Edwardian's Rugby Club;

2020 has been a tough year for us all so far and I would like to start my opening message by wishing you and your families well through what continues to be an extremely challenging and unsettling time.

The 20/21 season will be defined by the covid 19 pandemic and it is the club that navigates the challenges and restrictions posed by social distancing that will emerge successful when we return to competitive play. The safety of our players will always be paramount when training and we have a defined and precise plan aligned with the RFU framework to maximise sessions and enter this season in the best shape possible.

For Aston, this season will be about enjoyment and participation as we return to normal life. We will build on the foundations to define a playing way that suits our many strengths, we will continue to be an inclusive and diverse club and we will continue to improve our competitiveness across the teams and age groups. To acheive these aims we need to stay connected, committed and consistent and these three values will be the basis of our player coach relationship.

I aim to bring the club closer together both as players and as individuals. More detail on our future plans will be shared in due course but you can expect more engagement, more inclusion and more feedback in the immediate term.

I would like to thank the committee and players for selecting me as head coach for upcoming season and am really excited to get started. Aston has been my club for 11 years and I consider coaching you as an honor and privilege. I hope to see as many of you as possible at our pre season sessions and look forward to embedding our values as we continue to navigate the covid 19 pandemic.

To all our players, members and volunteers stay safe, support our vision and get excited for what's to come.
