AOE is sad to announce the passing of former player Bob Heeks.

Bob 'Animal' Heeks started at KEGS Aston in February 1958 and played for AOE in the 1960s' as a 2nd row/ back row forward, and earned his soubriquet as a result of his robust play on the field. Off the field he was a gentle giant. He is seen 4th from left in the back row of the picture from the first ever Watcyn Thomas match in 1965. Also pictured are Vic Lilley, John Walker, Derek Coles, Roy Bradley, Colin Hadley and Mike Dugmore

Away from the sports field, Bob was an architect and was responsible for the design of the 4th wing of the school that was added in the 1990's.

His funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Coalbrookdale at 12 on 27th January

Our condolences go to Bob's family and friends
