Congratulations to AOE Women's Team who secured the Midlands NC1 League Championship on Sunday

A comprehensive 51-5 victory over Old Leamingtonians at Perry Common saw AOE secure the point they required to guarantee the title. The victory sees AOE heading the table with a 15 point margin with the final round of matches to be played this weekend.

Despite the scoreline, AOE were made to work hard for their victory, with the visitors laying siege to the try line for the first 10 minutes - but as they have displayed all season, AOE's defence was strong and withheld the onslaught. Unusually, the majority of the points came from the forwards, with Old Leamingtonians managing to thwart the threat of Aston's usually rampant backs.

Scores for Aston came at regular stages, with Chloe Andrews opening the scoring, a brace from Bex Oldfield and a try for Taylor Marshall, before Zoe Coyne powered over for the first 2 of her scores. Old Leamingtoninans continued to cause Aston problems, and were justly rewarded with a try of their own midway though the second half, before Aston wrapped things up through Zoe Coyne, who completed her hat-trick, Shari Els and Rachel Fowkes. Full back Lauren Cresswell converted 3 of the scores.

On Sunday, AOE will be looking to complete a magnificent season with another victory - having won all of their matches and securing a try bonus point in every game - giving themselves a 100% record. This weekend's opponents, Bridgnorth, currently sit 2nd in the league.
