A huge win for the boys in the adverse weather conditions yesterday.

Everyone involved with the club has woken up with a huge smile on their face today and so they should the lads put on a performance in front of our home spectators to make us proud.
From the first minute the men in black put their stamp on the game they were up in their opponent’s faces not giving them chance to even trying to play putting in big tackles showing them that we meant business.
We scored early on when Ben Kent the elder of the Kent half back pairing yesterday picked the ball up and spotted a gap no sooner had he spotted the gap he danced through beating 3 defenders on his way over the try line.
We scored our second not so long after when the forwards made good use of their early dominance in the game with a catch and drive from a lineout inside the oppositions 22, with Jon “spooner” Wright holding on to the ball at the back of the maul and dotting the ball down.
A sudden lack of concentration allowed Longton to score a try and get theirselves back into the game but it was just the wake-up call the boys needed as maybe they had gotten too comfortable.
However it wasn’t long until our dancing winger Kacper Maniak got his hands on the ball out wide and beat a handful of defenders with a great finish in the corner. He did however injur himself in the process we hope he has a speedy recovery.
The second half started in the same fashion as the first with Atherstone putting in some big shots and setting the tone for the remainder of the game.
With the lads needing one more try to get the bonus point we piled on the pressure near the oppositions try line, until our number 8 Rhod Davies picked the ball up from the back of the ruck and made a massive carry leaving us just short of the line and then Ben Dingley swooped in and muscled his way over the line another try for the forwards which they deserved for their dominant performance up front.
Our number 10 Blake Kent had the impossible job of trying to convert our tries yesterday and can’t be blamed for not making the kicks as the weather was more suited to flying a kite than kicking a rugby ball.
Overall a great day and a great platform to build from for next weekend with our trip to St Leonard’s.
