We Move Into Second… The Adders climbed into second place last night with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Aylestone Park, our highest league position of the season. It didn’t start the way we wanted. The visitors struck after just four minutes, but the response from the Adders boys was exactly what you’d expect. The lads dug in and turned the game on its head before the break, with Tom Smith and Dylan Parker both finding the net to send us in 2–1 up at half-time. The second half was a proper battle. With a fierce wind and driving rain blowing straight at us, the boys showed their character with a determined defensive display to keep a dangerous Aylestone side at bay and see the game out. The only disappointment on the night was the 165 crowd for such a big game. With so much football on television it was perhaps to be expected — but the lads certainly deserved more backing on a night like that. We move on now to Saturday, when 17th-placed Yaxley visit the MG Evans Community Stadium.
