Aveley Football Club are delighted to welcome a Vets side to the football club, who will be managed by Peter Styles, which will hopefully help us connect with the local community even more than ever before.

We now have a fantastic Academy and youth set-up, Reserve team and now a Vets team (Over 35) who will be competing in the Greene King Vets League from next season.

Millers Chief Executive Craig Johnson on the new Vets side: "I am delighted to welcome Peter Styles to the club, who will be the manager of our newly formed Aveley Vets who will play at Parkside in the Greene King Vets League.

"This is another step forward for us as a club as we embrace football for all, diversifying within our community as we grow. Welcome Peter."

"Having all played our football for various teams over the years we had all got to an age where we could play Vets football and took the opportunity to play together once again.

"Having a Vets team for Aveley allows players to continue playing the game we all love. The Veterans League is growing at an unbelievable rate with our 9 divisions at the age group of 35-45 and three leagues at over 45.

"For Aveley it adds another format of football and a chance for older player, local residents, supporters, parents etc to get involved in playing once again.

"The opportunity Aveley have presented us to play and be a part of the excellent facilities available is one we are excited about and we can't wait to be involved with. Aveley are a club on the rise and to be part of that and all that goes with it, we hope we too can be a side that the club is proud of.

"We could also look to grow the teams within the club and have more than one side if the demand is there to play. We look forward to a successful season."
