Five intrepid Millers fans made their way to Tilbury on Saturday. Nothing unusual in that you might think except that instead of jumping in their cars, they walked the seven miles from The Millfield to Chadfields. It was all in aid of the Breast Cancer Research charity which the club supported at the league match with Ilford two weeks ago.
The walk took them through South Ockendon and on to North Stifford, then via Sockett?s Heath and finally to Tilbury. Leaving Aveley at 12.15pm they arrived at Chadfields at 2.30pm, just in time for some refreshments before watching the Millers take on Tilbury.
Club Mascot, Dusty Miller, joined them at the Treacle Mine and walked down Lodge Lane to Daneholes Roundabout. Dusty attracted plenty of attention with car horns tooting and people waving.
The walkers hope to raise in the region of £500 for Breast Cancer Research. Pictured at The Millfield before the walk, they were, from left to right, Craig Johnson, Trevor Quantock, Steve Lawson, Craig Quantock and Ken Bentley.
