The Millers have been handed a home draw against East Thurrock United in the 3rd round of the Essex Senior Cup.

The Rocks will travel to Mill Field before November 2nd as both sides enter the competition at the 3rd round stage, which also see's the likes of Southend United, Colchester United and Dagenham & Redbridge enter sides into the competition.

The Ryman Premier side played Aveley in cup competition last campaign and were resoundingly beaten 5-0 in the 3rd round of the Ryman League Cup thanks to a brace from Petrit Elbi, one a piece from Rashid Kamara and Jordan Cox and an own goal by then East Thurrock player, Spencer Harrison.

With an F.A. Cup 4th Qualifying Round replay on the horizon, with a potential first round proper tie at home to Colchester United at stake, it would be fair to admit that it wasn't the strongest of East Thurrock sides that night, but it was still a result to remember for Justin Gardner's Millers.

Last season Aveley were disappointingly kicked out at this stage of the competition after fielding an ineligible player in their 3-2 win over Essex Senior League side Takeley.

So this season they will want to avenge that memory, though they face a tough test against the side from the Ryman Premier League.

The date of the tie is yet to be announced but is required to be played before November 2nd.
