Aveley Football Club are delighted to announce central defender Harry Gibbs has agreed to sign-on ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season in the Vanarama National South.

The central defender first made his debut for us back in 2016 in a 5-2 victory over Ware and went on to make 32 appearances in his first season with the club winning Young Player of the year. The following season after making 5 appearances for us, he departed and joined, at the time, fellow Isthmian North side Brentwood Town.

Harry re-joined Aveley for a second spell at the beginning of the 2018/19 season and made over 75 appearances across that and the 2019/20 season before the latter was curtailed due to the pandemic. Gibbo started the 2020/21 season with Aveley and made 8 apps before departing to join local rivals Hornchurch, who he went on to win the FA Trophy with at Wembley.

Gibbo re-joined us for a third spell at the beginning of the 2021/22 season, where he helped with The Millers the Isthmian North title. The central defender went on to make 51 appearances in our Isthmian Premier League campaign where we sealed the historic promotion to the National South for the first time in our history, and also lifted the Velocity Trophy for the first time since 1990.

In our debut season, Harry made over 56 apps in all competitions, scoring five goals in the process, helping The Millers defy the odds and secure an unlikely play-off place.

In total Harry has made 266 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals in the process from centre half. We look forward to seeing Gibbo add to those tallies in the 2024/25 season.
