The Under 23 Southend United youth product Dan Humphreys joins the Millers on a loan deal at Parkside. Young full-back Dan Humphreys has been forced to be patient throughout his time with Southend United, but he was rewarded for his persistence by earning a third-year development deal at the conclusion of his two-year scholarship in south-east Essex.

The defender, who had to wait before being offered that scholarship, has worked incredibly hard throughout his career at Southend United, which now tallies in excess of eight seasons.

Excellent when defending one-on-one, Humphreys never shirks a challenge, with that attitude serving him well.

The right-footed teenager grew in stature during a loan spell with Isthmian League Premier Division club Lowestoft Town during the 2017/18 season, a period which meant increased travelling from his metropolitan Essex roots and led to him becoming more assured and mature as the Trawlerboys struggled with financial issues.

Humphreys made 13 appearances during his time with Lowestoft Town and was quickly becoming a firm favourite with the fans.
