This afternoon Aveley FC host the champions elect AFC Sudbury.

Before the showdown between Millers and AFC, there is a match on in the Aveley Bar.

Come 3PM however, Aveley will have to be near perfect to defeat Sudbury, who undoubtedly have been the best team we have come up against this season.

Sudbury sit rightfully top of the league. Although they probably do deserve to win the league, they sit 9 points clear with 7 matches left, and Aveley would like to get something from the match today, which will make Sudbury a little less comfortable at the top.

But the Millers sit 13th and don't have anything to play for, so there is no pressure whatsoever compared to Sudbury, who have the pressure of the title baring down on them.

Recent Form (last 10):

Aveley FC-
Harlow Town (H) 1-2
Heybridge Swifts (A) - ESC 2-3
Phoenix Sports (A) 3-0
Maldon & Tiptree (H) 0-0
Witham Town (A) 5-0
Haringey Borough (A) 1-3
Harlow Town (A) 1-4
Tilbury (H) 0-4
AFC Hornchurch (A) 2-1
Bury Town (H) 3-2

W 4 D 1 L 5

AFC Sudbury-
Redbridge (A) 4-0
Thurrock (H) 0-4
Tilbury (H) 3-0
Thamesmead (A) 2-1
Maldon & Tiptree (A) 2-0
Barkingside (H) 1-0
Haringey Borough (A) 3-1
Redbridge (H) 5-1
AFC Hornchurch (A) 1-1
Great Wakering Rovers (H) 5-1

W 8 D 1 L 1

The form favours the top of the table side, but the Millers have shown the talent they possess with victories over AFC Hornchurch and Bury Town, both matches in which Aveley have fell behind.

Since Sudbury's 4-0 home defeat to Thurrock they haven't lost. And won 6 on the trot. They just don't look like they can lose enough games to throw away the Ryman North title.
