Neill Collins and Aveley go Viral
The video footage of Petrit Elbi’s 93rd minute winner, along with Neill Collins’ exuberant commentary of the goal has turned into an online hit.
The video of Neill’s running commentary of the goal in Aveley's 1-0 win over Harlow Town on Monday night has also been picked up by the BBC who will be playing the video on their Match of the Day spin-off show called Match of the Day Kickabout, which will be shown on the CBBC Channel on Saturday 2nd March at 7.40am.
Neill was identified by some local non-league ground hoppers who have experienced Neil’s excitable and captivating ‘commentary’ first hand at other grounds in the region.
After posting the video on YouTube late Monday night, as of writing this, the video had had over 50,000 hits.
The Sun Online ran an article on the video which had had 35,000 hits as of this morning and now the BBC have asked if they can use the footage this coming weekend.
It has also been picked up by other media channels, football websites and blogs such as the Thurrock Gazette, GiveMeFootball.com and oddly, the Vietnam Times.
