In the reverse fixture Aveley grabbed a last minute winner through Suley Zuhdu converting in a Harry Critchley cross from close range for the 2-1 win on the Island.

Canvey are much changed since that day with Garry Kimble replacing Peter Taylor as manager with them up to 14th in the form guide, with two wins, and a draw from their last six games. Those wins coming against Whitehawk and Billericay Town, with a 1-1 draw against Cray Wanderers.
