Rowan Liburd joins Aveley

Aveley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Rowan Liburd.

We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Rowan Liburd from Chatham Town.

Rowan, 31, is an experienced striker who has scored goals at every level he has played at and joins after a spell with fellow Isthmian Premier League side Chatham Town.

Liburd spent four years at Thomas University in Georgia, USA, on a football scholarship where he scored 44 goals in 73 appearances.

Upon his return to the UK, Rowan joined Billericay Town in for the 2014/15 season where he striker scored 22 goals in the Isthmian Premier League. Those performances saw Rowan signed by then EFL Championship side Reading on a two year deal, making his debut against Cardiff City in the second tier of English football.

In March 2016, Liburd joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan making his debut against Newport County, his loan was extended to the end of the season, where he made ten appearances for the Chairboys.

Stevenage signed Liburd for an undisclosed fee where he scored his first goals for them against Southend United in the EFL Trophy. January 2017, he joined Leyton Orient on loan until the end of the season. Prior to subsequent loans with Hemel Hempstead and Guiseley.

Liburd signed for National North side Hereford in March 2019, before moves to Dartford on loan and permanent moves to Welling United and Billericay Town.

Whilst at Billericay Town Rowan joined Cheshunt on loan and after 14 goals in 15 games, the striker joined Cheshunt on a permanent. Liburd scored 19 goals across all competitions for Cheshunt during the 21/22 season, helping them win the Hertfordshire Senior Cup for the first time in their history and promotion via the playoffs to the National South after defeating Hornchurch 2-1 at Bridge Avenue.

Spells at Ramsgate and Sevenoaks Town saw Rowan score 15 goals in 36 games, that led to a move to Chatham Town, and after 44 games for the Kent based side, Liburd now moves to Aveley ahead of the upcoming season.
