When we faced Needham Market we hadn't won in 9 games but somehow we finally found what really we should've done past 9 games and played to the potential of the superb group of players we have here and we won 2-0, really it could've, should've been more however the two goals were enough to see off Needham Market.
It was a fully deserved win for the Millers against a tough Needham Market side who had won all of their away games, but came unstuck at Mill Field.
The Millers took the lead after about three chances went begging, but they took the lead as Lee Weeems held the ball up well against the defender, played it inside to Paul Preston he came inside onto his left foot and his shot took a slight deflection into the back of the net. Aveley 1-0.
Needham had the chance to equalise soon after but Westlake effort went straight across the front of goal and was cleared by Spencer Harrison.
However the Millers then took control as Petrit Elbi ran through the heart of the Needham defence put the ball onto his right foot and his shot squeezed under the Market keeper into the back of the net. Aveley 2-0.
Aveley then had three clear cut chances but just couldn't convert them, the likes of Danny Hopkins and Billy Holland both guilty of missing from the edge of the area.
Needham came out firing in the second half, but couldn't find that cutting edge with James Marrable collecting the easy balls into the Aveley penalty area.
The Millers then had a few half chances but also never really threatened the Needham keeper, but the damage was done in the first half and the Millers took all three points.
