Harlow started strongly and took full advantage of an injury to John Maskell to score their first goal. Jamie Richards finding the net from close range after fourteen minutes.

Millers started to come more into the game with a Garry Skerritt header clearing the bar after twenty-five minutes. Shortly after this a long cross from the left by Joao Carlos hit the bar.

Harlow immediately switched play to the other end and brought a good save from James Marrable.

Aveley then went close when Petrit Elbi headed the ball just past the left-hand post from a Maskell free-kick. This was followed by a shot from Christian Wheeler which went wide of the right-hand post in the 38th minute. Carlos then brought an excellent save from Harlow keeper James Hasell. He broke into the Penalty Area on the left and shot from tight angle, Hasell saving high to his right.

Clydie Roberts then scored Harlow’s second goal against the run of play in the 43rd minute.

Seconds later Millers nearly pulled one back when a Harlow defender stuck out a leg and Hasell was forced to make a good save at the foot of his left-hand post.

A change of personnel at half-time brought on Sean Thomas in place of Wheeler.

The first chance of the second half fell to Elbi who shot straight at Hasell after being put through by Skerritt. This was quickly followed by a Carlos free-kick but the result was the same.

Harlow’s third goal came in the 60th minute from Rhys Henry.

Millers reduced the deficit seven minutes later when Sean Thomas headed home a cross from Elbi.

As Millers chased goals to get back into the game Harlow added two late strikes. Henry scored his second of the game followed by Tashan Adeyinka getting on the score sheet with his first touch.
