Aveley’s first home pre-season friendly ended a comfortable 4 – 1 victory over Diss Town.
Aveley dominated early proceedings and took the lead through Petric Elbi.
The former Ilford striker shot low into the right hand corner of the net.
The Millers continued to create chances but lacked the killer touch in the final third.
And Diss made the home side pay for those missed chances when the equalized with 5 minutes of the first half remaining.
A misplaced pass allowed Diss control of the ball and Millers' keeper Wayne Martin was left two on one and the Diss front line took advantage when Kevin Leggett tapped the ball in unmarked.
Millers boss Rod Stringer changed things at half time and the home side dominated the game again taking the lead for the second time.
Sean Thomas received the ball in the box and quickly turned and shot under the Diss keeper into the net.
Thomas added to his and Aveley's tally when he got on the end of Ainsley Gasper's by line cross to head in.
Wayne Vaughan scored the fourth from the penalty spot with what proved to be the last kick of the match after Joao Carlos was bought down in the area.
