Aveley dominated for the majority of the game to book their place in the next round of the FA Trophy.
Razzaq Coleman De-Graft and David Kawa both come within inches of putting Aveley ahead inside five minute, with the former denied by an outstanding save from Hemel’s Holden. Just before the end of the first half and Holden was at it again, this time denying Imran Uche from close range to keep the score level going into half time.
Half Time: Aveley 0-0 Hemel Hempstead Town.
Into the second half and Aveley deservedly took the lead through a Josh Anifowose free-kick, it took a deflection off the wall and ended up in the goal.
Anifowose almost doubled Aveley’s lead by Holden tipped over the bar. From the resulting corner Aveley did double their lead, Anifowose connected with Kabongolo who saw his effort nestle in the goal.
It should’ve been three to Aveley but Holden made a point blank save to keep the score down again. Hemel pulled a goal back against the run of play through Sydney Ibie, but Aveley held strong for a fully deserved victory.
Full Time: Aveley 2-1 Hemel Hempstead Town.
