Aveley 3, Dagenham & Redbridge 0
AVELEY put on a strong performance to come out comfortable winners in their second pre-season encounter.
After a friendly on Tuesday night against Boreham Wood, Dagenham included strikers Josh Scott and John Nurse in their starting up, and both on occasions looked threatening.
Nurse was the closest seeing his cross cum shot clipped the far post.
But it was the home side that took the lead when Martin Tuohy’s shot was originally saved by Lewington but Ryan Imbert was on hand to nod in the rebound.
The second half saw a complete reshuffle for the second half and doubled their lead when Piers Wixon turned on the edge of the area and shot neatly past Lewington.
And just before the hour mark the Millers’ increased their margin when Ellie Kayembe was brought down in the box and the striker stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way.
Dagenham’s only real chance of the second half came through Oppiah, who made the most of a defensive mix up but Ronnie Worster was equal to the strike pushing it wide of the goal.
Aveley’s pre-season campaign continues to come thick and fast and continues on Saturday when we entertain tenants Romford.
