After Saturday's defeats for both Aveley FC and Heybridge Swifts, both clubs needed bounce straight back but it was the Millers who took the initiative and defeated the Swifts by a single goal.
Much like Saturday the Millers started in complete control, Petrit Elbi and Abs Seymour both tried from long range but both shots were over the crossbar.
Junior Baker had two chances as set-pieces and long throw ins caused troubles for the Swifts, but twice Junior Baker just headed over from eight years out.
Heybridge started to get control of the game as Pedulu and Amass got the ball more, which caused problems for the hosts. Back to back corners followed, but on this occasion the Millers stood strong and cleared with ease.
Pedulu almost danced through on goal but just before he buried the shot into the bottom corner the offside flag denied him.
The best chance of the first half came after good work from Liam Nash. He crossed into the far post area and found Billy Holland who headed towards the goal but it was saved easily by ex-Barnet keeper Sam Cowler.
Half Time- Aveley 0-0 Heybridge Swifts
After a scrappy and poor first half the Millers came out firing on all cylinders. After the best passage of play of the match, it landed to Petrit Elbi but his outstretched leg just couldn't get on the end of it.
Minutes later exactly the same thing happened Liam Nash set up Petrit Elbi at the back post, he headed into the bottom corner but it was saved well again by Cowler.
Heybridge had to more chances. First it was Amass whose long range shot went a few feet wide. Pedulu was next as he flashed another shot towards the Aveley goal but again didn't test Jack Kelly.
The Millers led soon after in controversial fashion. Liam Nash did well to get his shot off it cracked the underside of the bar and down in the line. The referee at first didn't give it, but the linesmen on the far side waved his flag and ran back to the halfway line and the goal was given. Aveley 1-0 Heybridge Swifts.
Three substitutions followed for the visitors as Alberto Pinto, Barham and Manfo replaced Ryan Maxwell, Ashford and Andrews.
The Millers responded with changes of their own as Joe spearman and goal scorer Liam Nash made way, their replacements were Ollie Smith and new signing Lee Prescott.
The last action of the match came as Alberto Pinto was sent off for the Swifts. He left his foot in as Jack Kelly cleared the ball away from goal, free kick was given as Pinto was awarded a second yellow card and was given his marching orders.
