The first ten minutes of the match it was actually Redbridge who looked to have settled down the quickest on the day, however with their dominance they didn’t manage to break down the strong Aveley defence, with Alalie and Oseyemi at the heart of the defence.
After the tenth minute the Millers started to play themselves into the match as Petrit Elbi broke through the offside trap but his shot was well saved by Redbridge keeper Mark Parker.
Moments later Parker was at it again. Tarryn Allarakhia whipped his cross into the box, it reached Alex Teniola but he was denied by a terrific save. From the resulting corner Billy Holland flicked the ball to the back post which was hacked off the line.
With 30 minutes gone in the game the Millers finally took the lead after a lot of continued pressure. A Liam Nash ball through the middle reached Petrit Elbi who outmuscled his marker and placed his shot past the keeper.
Aveley continued to attack the Redbridge goal, and really could’ve had three more goals before half time. Elbi, Seymour and Teniola all firing away from the goal while all under pressure from defenders around them.
Half Time- Aveley 1-0 Redbridge.
The second half continued how the first half ended, with Aveley on top. Liam Nash fired a volley wide of the goal after a great cross from Tyler Myers.
It didn’t take long for the Millers to double the lead and it was Alex Teniola who showed his great finishing qualities by smashing home after the ball landed to him in the penalty. Aveley 2-0 Redbridge.
With the next attack it should’ve been 3-0. Allarakhia whipped in a ball to Billy Holland but, although Billy stretched to reach the cross he just nodded it wide of the left hand post.
The motormen did somehow find a way back into the match, the first mistake of the match from the young Millers side was punished to the maximum. Billy Drave beat the offside trap and chipped James Marrable perfectly to pull Redbridge back with a chance with a long time left in the match. Aveley 2-1 Redbridge.
Unfortunately for the visitors that really was as good as it got for them. Petrit Elbi again beat the offside trap but his shot just lacked the necessary power to defeat the Redbridge keeper.
In the 68th minute, the Millers restored the two goal cushion. Allarakhia passed the ball into Petrit Elbi who pulled it back to Alex Teniola, who again finished with aplomb. Aveley 3-1 Redbridge.
With that third goal, Redbridge seemed to just stop, but that goal also gave the Millers bigger confidence and they went for blood. Three minutes later Petrit Elbi got his second and Aveley’s fourth of the match. Allarakhia crossed the ball to the edge of the area, Petrit Elbi twisted and passed it into the bottom corner of the goal. Aveley 4-1 Redbridge.
It was a good moment for Jack Knox who made his first team league appearance for the Millers, replacing goalscorer Petrit Elbi in the 74th minute of the game.
Jack Knox was straight in the action, linking with fellow U-18 man Tarryn Allarakhia, who the latter pulled it back to Alex Teniola who gave it back to Allarakhia but he curled it just over the bar.
With ten minutes to go the Millers got their fifth. A lovely corner from Liam Nash was perfect for Michael Alalie who powered home a header into the top corner to get his first goal since joining the Millers this time around. Aveley 5-1 Redbridge.
The Millers saved the best goal till last. Liam Nash had support but he was a man on a mission as he danced his way round two Redbridge defenders, and the keeper, to then smash past the spare man on the line to put the icing on the cake, a real class finish to round off a very good victory which sends the Millers into 8th.
Full Time- Aveley FC 6-1 Redbridge.
