The Millers continued their great form of 2016, by bagging back to back 1-0 victories over relegation threatened teams. It was David Fallah's goal on Saturday that was the difference and last night it was Brian Okwera's header that gave the Millers the three points.
Wroxham could count themselves unfortunate not to get anything from the match, but in the end poor finishing let them down.
It was the visitors who started the strongest, Jamie Forshaw got in behind, but his cross just couldn't find anyone in the box waiting to fire a shot in on goal.
The Millers came back strongly, Liam Nash and Michael Pindy interchanged passes well between them and forced a corner. But unfortunately after three corners it was defended well by the Yachtsmen.
Nick Davey was very lively for the visitors. He was the first to test James Marrable, with a header from close range. That attempt followed by a turn and shot from Davey again, but this time it was wide of the goal.
After a super run from Michael Pindy the Millers got a corner and from that corner they took the lead. A great ball in form Abs Seymour was met by Brian Okwera, who flicked it towards the back post, even though a defender was there he couldn't prevent the goal. [1-0].
The match really lacked clear cut chances. Liam Nash and Michael Pindy again combined but Pindy couldn't help but fire over the crossbar.
Wroxham's right back, Jackson Ramm was next to try his luck from long range, and his 30 yard effort flicked the top of the bar and went out for a goal kick.
There was two late chances in the half as the first was nodded wide by Steve Taylor for Wroxham just a few minutes before half time.
The second chance was the last kick of the half, Jamie Forshaw fired wide from the edge of the area after the ball broke to him. But he shot first time and it whistled past the right hand post.
Half Time- Aveley 1-0 Wroxham (Okwera 19-)
The second half was quite a drab affair, the weather dropped significantly and the game needed something to save it from fizzling out.
Reece Conway got a yellow card for throwing the ball softly at the back of Taylor's head.
The lively Michael Pindy probably should've made it 2-0 but saw his shot hit the post and cleared off the line. He raced through on goal, the goalkeeper just got enough on it to make it roll in slow motion towards the goal, it hit the base of the left hand post and was eventually cleared away by the covering defender.
A freak own goal almost made it 2-0. Wroxham's keeper punched a corner away, but somehow he managed to punch the ball through his own legs towards his goal, but Ramm was in the right place to clear off of the line, to spare the keepers blushes.
Substitute Andros Tobon almost latched onto a Jack Edwards ball which just wouldn't land to him inside the area, the ball eventually found it's way to Jack Edwards on the edge of the area, but he couldn't get a connection on it, and it trickled wide of the goal.
The last fifteen minutes Wroxham set up with four players upfront but couldn't really create any real chances for their forwards to pull the score level to give them a vital point.
Their only real chance of the second half came after a mistake from the Millers, it fell to Cullumbine one on one with James Marrable, but he spread himself superbly and denied him from close range.
Liam Nash also could've extended the Millers lead to end the game 7 minutes from time. A lovely pass from Arian Retkoceri, fell to Nashey, but his first touch just got away from him and the chance was gone.
Aveley showed great game management for the final five minutes (plus added on time), to really limit Wroxham to no other chances.
