Aveley Football Club

A good weekend for the Miller's as they well and truly battered Witham Town with Teniola, Nash, Retkoceri and Fallah grabbing the goals.

The Millers great form since the turn of the year continued with a superb 5-0 win away from home at Witham Town, and although it finished 5-0, it could've been even more.

Aveley started superbly, Michael Pindy was denied getting through on goal by a good tackle from Witham right back Brown. But the next time the Millers came forward with Pindy, Millers took the lead. Good run from Pindy as he got in behind Brown, he played it across to Alex Teniola and he smashed in from the edge of the area for his eighth goal in 14 appearances for the Millers. (1-0)

A few chances came for the Millers, again Michael Pindy had a chance, he beat the keeper squeezed his shot in from a tight angle but it was cleared just about by Akins. Liam Nash fired a shot destined for the top corner, but Down made a scintillating save to keep the score at 1-0.

Witham's best chance of the match was a 25 yard speculative effort, Mason Bloomfield fired a shot along the floor and smacked the bottom of the post and rebounded back to Bobby Mason who (whisper it) has three clean sheets on the trot.

In one half of football there was also five yellow cards, of which four went to the hosts, and one to Joe Oseymi. All four of Witham's yellows came from Arian Retkoceri who was playing superbly in the heart of the Millers midfield.

Half Time- Witham 0-1 Aveley FC (Teniola 4)

To be honest, that's really as good as it got for the hosts, who just didn't look like a team who just beat promotion hunters Thurrock last week.

Liam Nash was the next to add to his tally for the season, now with 24 in all competitions. He got the ball out of the right hand side, he left Akins for dead, fired a shot into the bottom right hand corner. (2-0)

Witham Town played their cards and made three substitutions in five minutes and that came back to haunt them as they finished the match with 9 men due to injuries. The Millers infact finished the match with 10 men, Shehu had a little knock and with the match all but over at 4-0 he was taken off.

In the 64th minute Michael Pindy was replaced by David Fallah, and only 40 seconds later Fallah controlled the ball and fired it into the bottom corner to get his 8th of the campaign. (3-0)

New signing Billy Coyne came on with 74 minutes gone into a centre midfield position and with his first few touches he passed the ball across the box to the unmarked Arian Retkoceri who passed the ball into the bottom corner. (4-0)

With ten minutes remain, although the game was over, the Millers didn't stop attacking. A sublime lofted scooped pass from Arian Retkoceri put Liam Nash through on goal, he chipped the on rushing Down, it looked to be going in but David Fallah came in and nodded the ball to get his ninth of the season, and his second goal in 16 minutes. (5-0)

The Millers kept going and within the last five minutes Liam Nash could've had a hat-trick. A last ditch tackle denied him after his shot beat the keeper, and only a minute later his shot where he chipped Down but it was then headed off the line, quite brilliantl to deny him once more.

Full Time- Witham Town 0-5 Aveley FC (Teniola 4; Nash 50, Fallah 64, 80, Retkoceri 74)

A great win for the Millers against a Witham side who were on a high from a victory over Thurrock the match before. A great statement of intent from Aveley side who face Haringey Borough away from home at Tilbury.
