The Miller's always seem to play poorly against Soham Town Rangers and they couldn’t of got off to a better start, Jack Edwards opened the scoring and goals from Abs Seymour and Perry Dunn clinched all three points for the Miller's.
Millers kicked off and with the first attack we took the lead. The Soham keeper who was signed a few days before the match punched away a cross, it eventually came to Jack Edwards, who superbly found the bottom corner with a 20 yard, outside the right foot effort. [1-0].
The first twenty minutes was probably the best, most relentless Aveley have been all season, attack after attack, but somehow remained 1-0. On eight minutes Aveley should’ve doubled their lead, but as the Miller's broke clear from a Soham corner, the ball just wouldn’t settle for Arian Retkoceri to fire home, and eventually on the cover was ex-Manchester United player Luke Chadwick to tackle well.
Shots from Andres Tobon and Arian Retkoceri were comfortable saves for Soham’s keeper. Soham had one chance in the first 30 minutes, but Billy Coyne was on hand to intercept superbly.
Liam Nash was the next to threaten the Soham goal, he took the ball off the keeper, with the goal at his mercy, but fired over due to the keeper holding onto his leg, somehow a penalty wasn’t awarded, and it remained 1-0.
Soon after Aveley doubled their lead, a lovely one-two between Abs Seymour and Arian Retkoceri set up the former and he finished very well into the bottom corner. [2-0].
That two goal buffer however lasted about 49 seconds. Ryan Sharman found himself free just outside the area, he played it to the right side of the box where Salim Relizani latched onto the end of it and finished with aplomb into the bottom left hand corner. [2-1].
Half Time : Aveley FC 2-1 Soham Town Rangers
At half time the Millers were forced into making a change with Billy Coyne replaced by Joe Oseyemi due to injury after a naughty challenge on him.
That substitution seemed to unbalance the Millers and Soham took advantage and created the better of the chances within the first 25 minutes of the second half. Jordan Gent was inches wide of the Aveley left hand post, and then only a few minutes later, Perry Dunn was needed to clear the ball off of the line to keep Aveley in front.
After that clearance Aveley gained control of the match and only 10 minutes later regained the two goal buffer. A superb corner from Andres Tobon was met by Perry Dunn who powered his header home, his third goal in four. [3-1].
That goal seemed to kill off the game and not much else was really created through the last fifteen minutes and the Millers clinched all three points.
