The first half was in truth rather poor from how high the Millers standards have been so far this season. But there was vast improvements in the second half and managed to get the three goals and three points at Mill Field.

Brentwood started very on top and it only took twenty seconds for Freeman to get in behind, but his shot lacked power, and Lamar Johnson saved well at his near post.

But Freeman was not to be denied for much longer as he latched onto a simple pass through our defence and Andrew Freeman slotted well into the goal to give the visitors the lead. Aveley 0-1 Brentwood Town.

Harry Gibbs was the first man in the book after 12 minutes, as he took down Brentwood's Lamar Reynolds who perhaps looked to be galloping through on goal. Thankfully only a yellow cards for the Millers centre half.

Brentwood had the opportunity to double their lead from the penalty spot after Lamar Johnson had no other choice but to take down Lamar Reynolds after questionable defending allowed him through on goal. However Reynolds smashed the penalty high over the crossbar at the Bypass End of the ground, which was a massive let off for all involved at Mill Field.

The Millers did have a few half chances, Daniel McCullock was tackled brilliantly just before he could tap in a cross from Emmanuel Ighorae, and a few minutes later Daniel McCullock almost latched onto an Abs Seymour long pass but Brentwood's man mountain of a goalkeeper Ronnie Yates came out well and cleared the ball.

Brentwood's Marcus Milner had a handful of chances but his header was tipped over the bar from Lamar Johnson. And from that save the resulting corner was somehow put over the crossbar from three yards out. It dropped to centre-half Yan Sumali and he booted it over the bar.

All that dominance from Brentwood Town was whipped out in six second half minutes as the Millers came storming back into this match and scored two goals inside six minutes. A double change from the Millers at half time seemed to help and the impact of Michael Pindy and Jack Edwards was key in this victory.

The equaliser came from a George Woodward free-kick, it landed at the back post to Arian Retkoceri who managed to superbly squeeze the ball in at a tight angle. Aveley 1-1 Brentwood Town.

Only two minutes later the Millers did one better and went ahead. Blistering pace from Michael Pindy saw him shoot past Brentwood's left back, he then crossed it into Daniel McCullock who calmly slotted with his left foot with his third goal in three games. Aveley 2-1 Brentwood Town.

The first and second halves were really chalk and cheese, and thankfully the Millers just stepped up their game, and although it probably still wasn't the level we all know the boys can play at, it was enough to gain all three points against Brentwood.

The three points were all wrapped up with 29 minutes left on the clock as the Millers scored all three goals within a 12 minute spell. And the third came as Olumbe Oluwatimilehin powered through the middle and threaded through a great pass to Michael Pindy and he finished in superb fashion. Aveley 3-1 Brentwood Town.

But Brentwood did have their chances, Lamar Reynolds almost dribbled his way with a free shot on goal, but Perry Dunn did really well to tackle Reynolds and get the ball away.

The Millers really could've scored a few more, first Daniel McCullock shot was blocked just before it went in, second Michael Pindy's cross was deflected just over the crossbar, and the third was almost a freak goal, the defender cleared it, only to hit Daniel McCullock and almost find the bottom right hand corner, but luckily for Brentwood it bounced just the right side of the post to keep the game at an arms length.

A Billy Coyne long ranged free-kick struck the bottom of the post and bounced the safety as the Millers carried on the pursuit for our fourth goal, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Brentwood did have two late chances of their own, Lamar Reynolds again, as he saw his shot flash past everyone and just miss the bottom right hand post by a whisker. In almost the exact same position Marcus Milner had a chance but his shot was deflected wide by Harry Gibbs.

A good result in the end for the Millers after a poor first half. But a solid commanding performance in the second was enough for the three points at Mill Field to stay third in the Ryman North.
