The Millers were largely unchanged from last week's 0-0 draw away at Tilbury, with only the once change with Harry Gibbs coming in for Nick Skelton.
The visitors had a few early chances, Jammers captain Matt Lock let rip of a rocket which was well blocked by his own teammate Sam Newson on its way towards goal. Maldon & Tiptree tried their luck from long range as Darren Mills fired wide and Liam Nash's effort was easily saved by Lamar Johnson.
The Mills' had a couple more chances between them, Lamar Johnson was out really well to stop Adam Mills from going through on goal, and then Darren Mills was free in the box but blazed way over the bar.
Despite early chances it actually felt comfortable from an Aveley viewpoint. Michael Toner and Dan Odamo were solid in midfield and won the midfield battle against the league leaders.
Michael Toner tried his luck from long range but he just couldn't get enough power to really test Maldon's keeper.
The goal didn't take too long to arrive for either side. But it was the Millers who took the lead, Dan Odamo stole the ball and played in Jeremiah Maja who raced in on goal and curled it in superbly. Aveley 1-0 Maldon & Tiptree.
Frustration seemed to literally kick in as Jammers forward and ex-Miller Liam Nash came straight through the back of Michael Toner.
A few minutes later the Millers were forced into a substitution as Daniel McCullock came off for James Pugsley on the 30th minute.
Lamar Johnson was later forced into a smart save as he pushed away a Darren Mills cross come shot, that save was followed up with clearances from Gaz Dauti and Joe Clark.
That save and clearances proved crucial. Joe Clark launched a throw into the visitors box, it was flicked on by Gaz Dauti and arriving at the back post was Jeremiah Maja who poked home from close range to double our lead! Aveley 2-0 Maldon & Tiptree.
It was almost another before half time for us, great buildup play found Michael Toner out wide who whipped in a wonderful cross to Jeremiah Maja who just saw his header inches wide the post.
Half Time | Aveley 2-0 Maldon & Tiptree.
We had a bit of controversy to begin the second half, Jeremiah Maja stole the ball and ran through on goal, was taken down inside the box by a clumsy challenge from behind, however it was waved away.
That really could've been a huge turning point in the match, but thankfully it didn't stop the Millers for very long to get our deserved third.
Michael Toner was at the heart of this goal, he stole the ball and played in Jeremiah Maja, Maldon & Tiptree keeper was in two minds to of coming out to get the ball, Jeremiah Maja ran through on goal and stroked the ball past Wilks into the bottom corner for his superb hat-trick. Aveley 3-0 Maldon & Tiptree.
Five minutes after our third we almost got a fourth, Michael Toner looped an audacious effort towards goal but it just fell wide of the left hand post.
On the 59th minute the Jammers had their first shot of the second half, it was a 20 yard effort which flew over the crossbar, which summed up a disappointing second half for the league leaders.
That effort was followed up by a tame effort from Adam Mills as he dragged his shot along the floor straight at Lamar Johnson who got behind the shot well to preserve his clean sheet.
Jeremiah Maja was so close to getting another as a long pass caught out the Maldon & Tiptree defence which saw Maja almost get onto the ball but Wilks just about scrambled the ball away.
Liam Nash tried again with an outside of the left foot shot from close range, but it was a comfortable save from Lamar Johnson to preserve again, clean sheet, 3-0 and the three points.
