Well it couldn't last, as we eventually lost our unbeaten league record for the season. A marvellous run came to an end at the Wallace Binder Stadium on Saturday afternoon, when it must be said a revived Maldon Town outfit came out worthy winners by the only goal of the game, against the Millers who had a slight off day at the office.

Petrit Elbi struck the top of the post from the edge of the box on 10 minutes in a half that saw our hosts hold the upper hand. After James Marrable had pulled off a stunning close range block on 20 minutes, Ross Parmenter struck home a 22 yard free kick on the half hour. Maldon could have increased their advantage some 3 minutes later, but the attempt hit the foot of the post and rebounded kindly for the Millers.

The second half saw the Millers more in the ascendancy, and we created a few half chances but found debutant keeper Charlie Hassler in fine form and equal to all that was thrown at him.

All in all we didn't really deserve anything, and the test now will be how the lads respond from this setback, as we travel on Tuesday night for a tough fixture at Wingate & Finchley.
