What this game desperately needed was a goal. The very patient supporters had to wait until the final 10 minutes when both teams at last showed some enthusiasm and made good attacking moves. It was however a case of too little too late. The Blues are still looking for their first win in this new year. The busiest player on the pitch was the Blues guardian Jamie Butler who made at least five good saves to deservedly keep a clean sheet. The Millers really should have found the back of the net. Matt Marshall inside the opening 5 minutes had a 20 yard volley pushed around the post for a corner by Butler. The resulting corner kick was long and picked up by David Knight whose overhead scissor kick was inches over the cross bar. Blues Midfielder Tyron Smith struck a free kick of at least 40 yards which never rose above shoulder height, across the visitors 6 yard box, only a touch was needed but 3 home players were just inches away. David Knight deserved a goal as he left two Blues defenders standing with his acceleration but his 15 yard goal bound shot was not for the first time pushed around the post for a corner from an alert Butler. Into the second half and both managers used all three substitutes to liven up proceedings. Sheldon Sellers had a great run from the half way line but his final effort was well saved by the Blues guardian. Into 4 minutes of stoppage time and both sides could and should have snatched a winner.It was the turn of Adam Rafis in the visitors goal to show off his prowess making fine saves from a Ryan James 10 yard volley and then with what was the last kick of the game a 12 yard drive from Blues striker Carl Wilson-Denis.
