Millers enjoy the seaside

Aveley Football Club

After a superb second half performance Aveley FC book themselves into the first qualifying Round away at Histon FC.

The Millers got through a very tough first half where FC Clacton could've, and maybe really should've been in front going into the break.

It was Aveley who started the better of the two sides, a free kick from Ahmed Deen was headed by Steve Willis towards but goal but it was superbly tipped onto the crossbar.

Paul Preston was next to get in-behind his pull back found Spencer Harrison but his close range shot was again saved by the impressive Fowler.

After the tenth minute the hosts really did take control of the game with back to back corners, the cross landed to Chapman but he fired way over the bar. The next chance came a minute later after a cross into the box by Aaron Condon landed on Adam Daniels head but he headed over the crossbar. You could see Condon was Clacton's best player and he soon after made space for himself but was denied by a good save from Jack Kelly.

In the 25th minute the hosts scored their deserved goal to put them in front. Cross into the box found the unmarked Kevin Coyle who applied the smart finish into the bottom corner. FC Clacton 1-0 Aveley FC.

Really a minute later the Miklers defence were lost at sea as Kevin Doyle got in behind the back line but again Jack Kelly stood strong and denied Doyle with a fine save.

The Millers striked level direct from a free-kick. Ahmed Deen from about 25 yards out fired it low and hard through the wall and the ball found its way past the keeper into the back of the net. FC Clacton 1-1 Aveley FC.

A minute later the hosts found themselves back in-front, ball played through to Condon, he superbly faked a shot, pulled it back onto his right foot and slammed the ball home. FC Clacton 2-1 Aveley FC.

Abs Seymour looked to have won the visitors a penalty after his legs were taken away from him by Daniels but he went down too dramatically and that could've been why it wasn't given.

Liam Nash pulled the millers back on level terms, a ball played through split the defence to Nash, he went round the keepe and although he was pulled down he managed to calmly pass the ball into the back of the net. FC Clacton 2-2 Aveley FC.

Half Time- FC Clacton 2-2 Aveley FC.

Within the first three minutes of the second half, in a game that wasn't really dirty at all, there yellow cards were shown. One for Steve Willis for handbags with Kevin Doyle who also received the same punishment. Paul Preston was then booked after the ball flicked up onto his hand from a yard away.

As the game went on Aveley slowly gained control of the match. A Paul Preston cross found James Peagram who just headed wide of the target. They did also have a goal chalked off as Liam Nash was just offside as he received the ball and played it to James Peagram who rifled home.

A double change really cranked the pressure up on FC Clacton as the Millers brought on attacking players in Joe Pearman and a welcome return back to action for tireless winger Marcus Elliott.

The Millers took the lead through a Spencer Harrison header. Whipped in from Petrit Elbi and Harrison powered away from his marker and headed past the keeper at the near post. FC Clacton 2-3 Aveley FC.

In the last ten minutes the Millers ran riot. Liam Nash made it 4-2 superbly after neat passing interchange between substitute Marcus Elliott, Liam Nash pulled it across onto his left foot and fired it into the back of the net to seal the match for the Millers as Clacton heads went down. FC Clacton 2-4 Aveley FC.

Every time the Millers went forward they looked like they were going to punish Clacton and they did again. Joe Pearman this time provided for Liam Nash to tap in in from close range. FC Clacton 2-5 Aveley FC.

In the last minute of the match the Millers put more gloss on the scoreline as again Marcus Elliott assisted as he crossed across the area and Liam Nash fumbled it over the line to claim his fourth goal of the match, and Aveley's sixth.
