After one of the best performances from 1 to 11 for the Millers to get a more than deserved 3-3 draw and replay away in Taunton on Saturday, this meant Taunton would have to do that long journey on a Monday night to Parkside. And fair play to every single staff, volunteer, player and supporter who hade the trip from Taunton on a Monday.

We started off the game brilliantly and kept up the strong performance throughout the match. Wyan Reid managed to out pace the Taunton Town left back before he fired a fierce strike towards the right hand side of the goal, only to be denied by The Peacocks impressive shot stopper Lloyd Irish.

George Sykes was close to putting us ahead. Sam Mvemba did well to get the ball into George Sykes with a brilliant ball into the box, Sykesy had two bites of the cherry but just couldn't add to his superb five goals in seven games.

Fifteen minutes into the game and we took the lead. Alex Akrofi got the ball from a short corner taken by Jason Raad, Alex Akrofi got to the corner of the penalty area and curled it into the top left hand corner of the keepers goal. Aveley 1-0 Taunton Town.

We continued our dominance and a sublime solo goal from Jason Raad doubled our lead. Jason Raad collected the ball just inside of Taunton's half, he dribbled past five Taunton Town players and passed the ball into the bottom left-hand corner with his left foot, a brilliant run and finish. Aveley 2-0 Taunton Town.

It was almost a third for us before the half time whistle as George Sykes controlled a long ball up to him. He controlled the ball played it to Alex Akrofi whose effort was over the crossbar.

David Hughes had a couple of bits of action just before the fifteen-minute break. Ryan Brett drifted in a corner for the visitors but Hughesy came and claimed it. Two minutes later and with the last kick of the half Jamie Price had half a chance at goal and the resulting save from comfortable for David Hughes.

We started the second half well with a chance for George Sykes, a good ball in from Jonathan Nzengo found Sykes but his effort was saved well by Lloyd Irish.

The last thirty minutes of the second half the visitors continued to throw everything they could at The Millers, but the work off the ball was superb from every single Aveley player as they chased everything they could on a freezing cold Monday Night.

David Sullivan had a chance as he connected well with a volley but it went wide of the right hand post. Brett then took a free-kick which was superbly finger-tipped over the bar by David Hughes, back-to-back corners came and the chance was headed over the bar.

We almost killed the game off by getting a third, but Lloyd Irish was even to George Sykes and Alex Akrofi's efforts at goal, but when Irish couldn't save Sykes chipped the keeper only to see it go just wide of the right hand post.

The visitors did get their consultation as a ball in from the right hand post was headed in by Jack Rice who set up a grandstand finish but we held on to play either Met Police or Biggleswade Town in the next round of the competition. We will find out who we will face in the final qualifying round of the competition next Tuesday in their replay and play them next Saturday.
