The first twenty minutes was a very even affair which saw Rhys Madden and Sam Mott both made good saves one from a Nathan Cooper header and the other was Harry Cook making his first start for the Millers who saw his stinging drive batted away by the Urchins number one.
We should've taken the lead but somehow a chance was missed from close rose. Brilliant corner from George Woodward was met by Harry Cook but he couldn't direct it into the back of the net.
Three minutes after that amazing chance, Hornchurch took the lead. Martin Tuohy finished it off for the Urchins after two shots were blocked, it came back to Martin who finished it into the corner. Hornchurch 1-0 Aveley.
Again the Millers had a huge chance which saw us somehow not score another clear opportunity. Cook, Bolle and Barry were all there a yard out and somehow it just didn't go in the Urchins net.
The hosts doubled their lead soon after that chance to open up a 2-0 goal lead. Rhys Madden came to collect a cross but it landed to Fanimo who tapped in from close range. Hornchurch 2-0 Aveley.
We got straight back into the game as striker Adam Bolle pounced onto a cross, turned and fired into the top corner of the net. Hornchurch 2-1 Aveley.
The Millers were back in the game but unfortunately that feeling only lasted for a minute as George Purcell finished with ease as he was allowed time and space to finish into the bottom corner. Hornchurch 3-1 Aveley.
Half Time | AFC Hornchurch 3-1 Aveley.
Being two goals behind a team that was on a ten game winning streak was always going to be tough and the second half got worse for the Millers.
Rhys Madden was back in the action after he saved well from a Martin Tuohy close range header.
The hosts extended their lead on the 62nd as Kamara played a defence splitting ball to George Purcell who emphatically buried it into the bottom left corner. Hornchurch 4-1 Aveley.
The Millers keeper was next forced to make two good saves to again deny Martin Tuohy and then beat out a rasping effort from Theo Fairweather-Johnson.
Aveley came back into the game with a couple of chances, first Adam Bolle attempted a looping header but it was saved by Sam Mott. Moments later Jack Isherwood saw his 20 yard free-kick go over the bar.
With fifteen minutes left the Millers then struck the post, with the chances we had throughout the game we really could've been right in this game. Woodward crossed to Adam Bolle whose header smacked the crossbar, Jack West followed up but his effort was smothered by Sam Mott.
In the 89th minute, Hornchurch rounded off the game by scoring their fifth of the game. Theo Fairweather-Johnson used his blistering pace to get in behind and slotted into the goal to round off the scoring.
