Freddie started his career at Southend United making his way through the youth ranks there, he had a loan spell at Grays Athletic and Brightlingsea Regent, before joining Regent on a permanent basis, he then departed Brightlingsea in the Isthmian Premier League to join us in the 2017/18 season where he made 27 appearances.

Gard started off the 2018/19 season with a bang scoring in a 6-0 victory over Dereham Town on the opening day of the season and went on to make 17 appearances that season after an injury-affected campaign. After an injury in the last seconds away at Coggeshall Town, it forced Freddie to have an operation and was with the Millers training last season building his way back to full fitness.
