Jay Leader was an ever present for Aveley last season, starting 42 of 43 league and play-off games last campaign. The centre half re-joined the Millers in the summer of 2012 from Bethnal Green United and turned down offers from numerous clubs over the summer to stay at Mill Field. Leader was previously at the club on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge as a 16 year old under the former management team of Dave Spittle and Mark Brett, and has been given the nickname of 'Jay-veley' by the boys after the loyalty he's shown to the club by staying this season.
