On a crisp, bright and rather chilly Saturday afternoon, the under 7 and 8’s joined together to play together in an exhibition match before the first team played against Old Reds

One team wore bibs and the second team wore Red and Black, the teams were mixed ages of sevens and eights, kick off was at 1pm and the Bibs kick off.

The Bibs started well with good passes until the Red and Black side intercepted the ball and with good running and support by all the first try was scored by Stuart.

From the restart Bibs handling and team work triumphed as they broke through the other teams defence and a try was given scored by Alfie W, but the Red and Blacks came back with a flurry of passes and a second try was scored by Daniel.

Bibs have the ball and run into touch this enables a turn over to the Red and Blacks and with a great run from Frankie he scores in the corner.

Red and Black kick off the second half and Bibs showing some amazing tagging which unfortunately sends the Red and Black runner into touch the ball is turned over to the Bibs.

The Bibs make a good run to the try line but great tagging from Max and Callum ensure that the Bibs do not score.

Red and Blacks have the ball again and through good support Tom scores a try.

The rest of the match shows good running, tagging and team support and Tom scores another two trys and the Red and Black come away with a win.

The whole game shows the development of the children as some are just 5/6 and the support they gave to their team mates no matter how old there are.
