Designate Chairman Elected...

‘ On behalf of all at the club I want to thank George for all of his efforts during his time as Chairman’.

Due to these unprecedented times and us unable to gather for our AGM a virtual one was held on the 21/05/20 to adhere to RFU guidelines and the clubs constitution which states that one must take place in the month of May.

The club’s formal AGM will take place at Barracks Lane as soon as Government restrictions allow where all normal agenda items will be discussed.

During the virtual AGM Club Chairman George Ralph addressed the members present with a brief overview of the current situation and gave a review of the season. George advised all
members that he will be stepping down from the role as Club Chairman and proposed that Vice Chairman Grant Britton will take on the Chairman Designate role until the AGM can go ahead which was seconded by attendees of the meeting. The position of Designate Chairman will be held until the AGM can go ahead where votes can be formally given on the position.

Designate Chairman Grant Britton concluded the meeting thanking George Ralph for his efforts. He said, ‘On behalf of all at the club I want to thank George for all of his efforts during his time as Chairman. The improvements around the clubhouse over his tenure have been driven by George’s desire to improve facilities at Barrack’s Lane for all of its members to enjoy & I look forward to continuing what was our shared vision.
At present we do not know when rugby will be allowed to continue but behind the scenes there are many projects that we aim to complete before we get back on pitch. As many know our drive to raise funds is well underway to allow us to continue with some of these projects, I ask you all to support this where possible. In the coming weeks renovations to our Patio area will be undertaken which will undoubtedly come in use throughout the season.
We continue to build our relations also with new Head Coach Chris Hurd who is working behind the scenes to get things in place ready for the inevitable green light from the RFU. We hope to have news soon on a forwards coach to compliment Chris & the clubs vision going forward’.

Further details of AGM date & Club News will follow in the coming weeks.
