Avonvale 12- 20 Melksham

Avonvale besot with injuries and unavailabilities came second best to well drilled Melksham team. Melksham scored first converting a penalty from 30 metres before Vale who were wearing their new shirts sponsored by the White Lion Batheaston scored two quick tries on either sides of the pitch by winger Toby Adlam. Vale were in control for a while moving the ball wide and at speed and Melksham were struggling to stay in the game. Things changed dramatically in the second half when Melksham took control of the game using their big forwards to punch holes in the Vale defence and then moving the ball around well off their number ten. Melksham scored two quick tries which they converted and landed a penalty to take the game away from Vale. Coach Tom Dunne said. I am relatively pleased with the result with the team we had, they gave their all but Melksham were the better team on the day.
