Avonvale Colts exit Somerset cup in tight game

Two soft tries against run of play led to defeat
Hornets were not able to get out of their half as Avonvale applied pressure but nor could we break through to score. Some how out of a maul close to the touch line the ball got into the hands of the Hornets left wing and he could not be caught as he raced down the touchline. 5 minutes later a speculative kick bounced awkwardly causing the defending wing to slip and the same very pacy left wing pounced on it to score in the corner ending 10 - 0 at half time.
I the second half we pulled back 6 points from Will Andrews with two penalties given away due to our attacking pressure and we felt that we were right back in the game as we were playing some fine attacking rugby. Hornets came back at us and after a period got into our 22 were unfortunately we gave away a penalty for a high tackle which was converted. Our attacks increased in intensity and some great off loading saw us consistently gain ground forcing Hornets to give away penalties and one too many off-sides say a yellow card given . This create sufficient space to for Will Andrews and Will Able to combine putting Will Able away into the corner but the difficult conversion was missed. Resolute defence from Hornets saw the game out and all though obviously disappointing it was a great game of rugby from two very good sides and played in good spirit
