Fab start to the Season

Our first match of the season as Under 9s found us going to a new fixture in Beaconsfield. Just finding the match was a challenge for some as it found the directions and sat navs going round and round the services!!

The boys all looked so smart in their new kits with thanks to our sponsors Rexel.

We play 7 a side now and the 15 minute long halves proved challenging with little tired legs towards the end.

The boys played extremely well and we welcomed four new players - three new to Aylesbury United and one new to our team. Kai and Matthew captained a game each and found them undertaking their new roles with enthusiasm and keenness.

Across the matches there was some superb goalkeeping and unlucky shots at goal. We started playing in positions and encouraging the boys to remain in their positions. Our fantastic defending was evident and the midfielders and strikers played so well together. How we didn’t score 8 goals in the second match is a mystery.

A fabulous start to the season and well done to all the players and we look forward to a successful and fun season.

Rexel Man of Matches Awards went to Jacob S and Roman – well played both of them although all 8 players were in contention.
