A fab morning made the trip worth it

Kevin’s Team
Jacob S, Kai, Matthew, Billy, Szymon, Nando, Noah, Kamil

We travelled for a mid morning kick off to Gerrards Cross and Fulmer’s ground in Fulmer and were welcomed by the aroma of bacon and the sun shining. A great improvement to the training session the day before where even the hardiest of players were feeling damp round the edges (not to mention the coaches!!)

Jacob and Matthew were captains and what two wonderful games we had. The boys are playing as a great team and the passing drills at training are definitely paying off and the team are playing in their positions and listening to each other. I was chuffed to be their coach today and their hard work is starting to show.

Jacob is always running up and down the pitch and looking for an opportunity to score and had a great stint as goalie today too. He captained the team in the first game well and could be heard giving clear instructions to the others, along with a cracking penalty, he really was a force to be reckoned with.

Kai played in defence and his defending skills and goalkeeping were great today. There was some great tackling and blocks happening and he really is a solid member of the team.

Matthew captained the second game today and his teammates listened to what he was saying and he had a great stint in goal, making some good saves and his distribution with the ball was excellent.

Billy’s continuous running up and the down the pitch found him defending and attacking simultaneously. He showed some great ball skills and was a handful for the opposition to deal with and keep up with.

This was Szymon’s debut with the team and he was a welcome addition. He ran tirelessly and slotted in well with the team and never gave up no matter what position he was playing in.

Noah is growing in confidence with the under 9s and played a stint in goal, performing some great saves. He then went into defence and again played superbly, putting in some great tackles and tireless running with the ball.

Nando played up front and found space left vacant by opposition players and slotted himself in to these to allow several opportunities to strike at goal. His link up play was excellent and he is a valued member of the team in his first season with us.

Kamil played his debut match for the under 9s with us today and he has the promise of a great player. His attitude is second to none and he listens to instruction and acts upon these, he fitted in well with the rest of the team and is a welcomed addition.

The Rexel man of the matches today were Szymon and Noah

Goals Assists
Matthew 1 2
Jacob S 2
Billy 4 1
Nando 1 2

We have our first home game next week in our new home and if the team play like they did today we are in for a great game.
