This group shines in the April sun

2 close games Sunday, we showed great team work and scored some great goals.

George was the star of the show, bagging his first goal for the club and beaming from ear to ear afterwards. He came close to getting his second with a shot that flew over the crossbar!! Well done George your hard work and effort has paid off!!

The other highlights included Adam whipping in a great cross which Matte flew himself at, Kung foo style to score a great volley.

Austin finished off a really great team goal in calm fashion when Alfie and Matte Played 2 great passes to put him through.
Michal and Lukasz were solid in the midfield and battled for each and every tackle.

Jay Jay made some strong saves in goal and played some great passes out of goal.

Seb was played all over the pitch and put in a solid performance in goal, up front and in defence. Showing his abilities in all diffident positions.

With the sun blazing down on the Ashmead pitch the team shone as brightly as ever.
Noah was outstanding, finding his second wind in our second match he led by example chasing back and driving forward. Really good application today Noah and awesome decision making.

James coped very well with his leaky defence. Trailing at half time we opted to push a defender forward as the game was more finely balanced than the score line suggested. Out on field James was brave and calm on the ball. Very impressive Mr Herring.

Euan was solid in goal, read the game very well in defence and excelled in midfield. Often winning the ball and moving the ball forward quickly with his teammates using one twos. A great display earning man of the match on a day where there were many contenders.

Szymon, Jacob P, Christian, Lucas and Luca were sensible in possession and worked hard to keep their positions. Each offered attacking threat and passed at the right times after trickery. Awesome chaps.

Mikey bagged himself two stunning goals after recovering from receiving the ball full in the face when playing in goal. Mikey’s first was laid on by Szymon. Mikey steered the ball from the edge of the penalty box aver two defenders and a scrambling goalie. The fact the ball skimmed the head of the first defender only served to show how accurate his shot was. His second came after a great determined solo run and fine finish. Another brilliant all round performance rewarded with two goals and great team celebrations.

Thanks to Russ for referring, Steve for overseeing the team in our first match and Dave for breaking down and Kompel for running our stall.
And all the supporters that help to create a positive environment for our children to play football!
