Mini Ducks

Team info

Saturday morning sessions for children aged 2.5 to 6 years old and held between 9:30 and 10:30am at Fairford Leys Football Pitches.

Aylesbury United Juniors FC & Aylesbury United Ladies & Girls FC are delighted to work in partnership with Bucks Sports Academy to deliver our Mini Duck sessions.

As an FA Charter Standard Youth Club, our Mini Duck sessions form part of our engagement with the local community and are aimed at supporting a child between the ages of 2.5 and 6 with their first steps in sport and being active.

Mini Ducks is a fun and friendly one hour session where your child is within a learning environment and introduced to playing sport.
Although these sessions involve a football, they act as an excellent foundation for any sport; with each session being designed to improve your child's:-
Agility, Balance and Coordination (ABC) through dynamic movements;
Their confidence and social skills;
Develop their imagination & creativity;
Help develop counting, colour and shape recognition;
Develop kick, throw and catching skills;
Develop spatial awareness.

Each school term is booked in full or pro-rata and any child's first taster session is free.

Further information can be found on the Bucks Sports Academy or contact can be made with the Coaching Team via the BSA Website or at miniducks.aujfc@gmail.com.

In the May of each year, children within School Year 1 are invited to train separately and participate in our Foundation Phase of training; with a view to forming our Under 7 teams for the forthcoming season starting in the September.

Many of the Junior players within Aylesbury United Juniors have followed this pathway and remained with the Club for many years.

Please Note:
All of the lead Coaches hold a minimum of an FA Level 1 Coaching qualification, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and are 1st Aid qualified.
They are also often supported by other members from within the Club who have volunteered as part of undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh awards etc.

Weather permitting the Mini Duck sessions are every Saturday between 09:30 and 10:30am at Fairford Leys Football Pitches, Andrews Way, Aylesbury, HP17 8QQ.

Please ensure your child wears clothing appropriate for the weather and activity; remembering layers are best and it is easier to dress down and remove layers, than to try and add in order to get warm, once cold.
Players should be football boots outside and trainers when indoors. Shinpads are a good idea.
Hydration is important before and during the session but this must be a non-fizzy drink.

In the event of inclement weather, the Mini Ducks have access to an indoor venue and its use will be notified on the Mini Ducks Facebook Page.
