A windy day at Covert Lane, saw a physical & fast paced game from both sides.
The Jimmies had to contend with the pace and youth of Lutterworth, however they aimed to tire the opposition via the strong forward game of the boys in blue & white.
3 Trys for the returning Blane Howe would make a perfect weekend, if not for his leg injury in the 60th minute. To assess the damage and to ensure player safety was paramount the game was called short. Unfortunately this happened just after the visitors scored their game winning try & conversion.
Post match:
"We played well in spells today. A good offloading game kept the ball alive by the forwards, gaining us several metres and opened up space for our backline. It is something we want to work on as we approach our next round in the cup, we just need to keep it up for the full 80. It's a real shame we weren't able to finish the game as I'm certain we would have taken the lead back and won. However Blane needed medical attention and luckily the damage isn't too severe. We wish him a speedy recovery." - Will Law, Club Captain.
