Badshot Lea saw the season out with a sixth straight unbeaten game, against high flying Camberley Town at Shawfield Stadium - on an unusually warm May Bank Holiday Monday. With four changes in the starting lineup from Saturday's 2-2 draw at Raynes Park, The Baggies faced a Camberley Town side aiming for a dizzy 92 points target. However, it was the home side that drew first blood on 10 minutes, when David McCallum raced past Dean Greenwood and hit a shot that visiting keeper O'Neal Garness could only parry. James Pilgrim was on hand to hit home from ten yards - his second goal of the weekend. Camberley hit back when a Dale Webb free kick floated into the top corner on 22 minutes.
The visitors took the lead on the hour, when Jon Burch headed home a corner, unchallenged. Seven minutes later, Baggies MOTM and Woking Academy 2nd Year Player of the Year, Mason Welch-Turner out-foxed several Camberley defenders with his trickery, before squaring the ball on the edge of the eighteen yard area. Jack Howard's 20 yard strike whistled past Garness, to give The Baggies a much deserved equaliser. Both sides had opportunities to nick the three points, with Garness and Allen both earning applause from the large holiday crowd, for agility between the posts. The game ended at 2-2 with both sides undoubtedly pleased with their performances to end their 42 game season.
For The Baggies, finishing on a six game unbeaten run deserves great credit. Congratulations too, to Camberley Town for finishing as CCL Premier Division Runners Up, with a massive ninety points total.
