The club are delighted to announce the signing of exciting Left Back Adam Sumner in the wake of the departure of Adam Dodd to FC United. The ex Fleetwood Town, AFC Fylde, Altrincham and Lancaster City defender is vastly experienced in non league having risen through the leagues quickly with AFC Fylde being an ever present in his 5 years with the club. Adam was named in league team of the year whilst at Lancaster helping them gain promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier in his stint at the Giant Axe.

Boss Joey Collins said,

To get someone of his experience at a great age of 27 we are expecting to see the very best of Adam. We beat off stiff competition to get this signing done so quickly and Adam is excited to get involved”

When speaking to Adam on his arrival at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium he said “after talking with Joey and Matt Lawlor it was an easy decision. They told me what they are wanting to achieve and I can’t wait to get started and hopefully contribute towards a successful season”

The second signing is a familiar face as it's the return of ex Bolton Wanders and FC United winger Ryan White. Ryan, 20, signs back at Brig after a short stint with FC Utd and has said “I just cannot wait to get started. I have been given another chance by Joey and I am determined to hit the ground running from pre season.”

Collins said of Ryan, “with Whitey playing here before, we knew of his qualities and wanted him to return to allow him to prove himself again, and ultimately contribute to what we believe will be a successful season in a tough division.”

Welcome Adam and welcome back Ryan!
