Cup thrills and spills in a game of two halves

The sunny afternoon and warm temperature belied a strong wind blowing strongly slightly across the pitch and in to the faces of the Bancroft team.
Bancroft started slowly unlike their opponents who had opened the scoring quickly with a straight forward piece of play and some direct running. This failed to wake up Bancroft who were on the back foot again as Pegasus pressed home their advantage. Tried as the might Bancroft could not get away from their try line and it was not long before the visitors scored again.
Pegasus looked dominent and coped well with anything Bancroft tried. Another try and a penalty took Pegasus further infront ane they were not finished yet. As Pegasus racked up 29 first half points Bancroft launched a final effort just before the half time whistle. A good interchange of play created space and Bancroft finally got on the score sheet and turned round 7 - 29.
With the wind at their backs Bancroft looked a different team in the second half. Immedite pressure was rewarded as Bancroft forced their way over for a well worked try. Now things were really starting to click and continuous pressure was rewarded time and time again.
Pegasus managed to get towards the Bancroft try line but the defence was resolute.
Bancroft notched up 34 unanswered points in the second half running out 41 - 29 winners and a place in the cup final.
