This weekend saw the 1’s host east London in what proved to be another test of their brick wall defence, the game started slowly with both teams conceding a lot of penalties and being playing for the most part in our half for the first 15 or so minutes, however the defensive unit put in some big hits and some superb lineout jumping from Ed jones led to east London converting some penalties into points, taking the lead to 6-0 with under 10 minutes left in the half. The Bancroft men came back fighting however and showing their true ability when switched on scored 3 quick fire tries in the space of 5 minutes, with a short drive from Alex Dempsey, some good offload play leading to George Hatt exploiting a mismatch and running half the field to go under the posts and Ed Jones scoring off of phase 3 from the kickoff with some excellent setup play from the whole team

The second half got under way with a much more settled Bancroft showing their organisation in defence and punishing the oppositions attacking runners, some more good phase play saw the skipper Ayo Akinfenwa carry out a very rare draw and pass to put Richard Williamson in the corner, at treat for all spectators that are aware of the captains passing prowess. With minutes left on the clock Bancroft slotted home another 3 points curtesy Of a Craig Dempsey penalty however it was east London who finished the game with some miscommunication from the three quarters allowing a clearance kick to be chased down by the oppo winger and scored in the corner
